Published in 2013 by Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen, the volume accompanies the major retrospective presented at Moderna Museet between 2012 and 2013. Rather than positioning photography as a fixed or isolated medium, Tillmans has consistently approached image-making as an open field, describing himself as a “picture-maker” and moving freely between photographic, material, and spatial forms.
